"Trip of a lifetime"
We took our entire family to Kapama for safari. There are two safaris per day - one in AM and one in evening. Each time, we saw more and more amazing animals including lions eating a wildebeest, leopards (twice), dozens of elephants, giraffes, hippos running into the water - the list goes one. Our guide and tracker were extremely knowledgeable. The resort itself is beyond 5 star. Food was excellent (way too much of it!) and the delightful touches of tea before afternoon safari and drinks and snacks in middle of each safari were incredible. You must go to Kapama!

Kapama had very friendly and trained staff. The food was Great, lots of variety to choose from for every meal and the game drives were excellent as our game driver had lots of knowledge on the animals, birds, trees, etc and was happy to answer all my questions. Thank you for a wonderful time Kapama River Lodge!
“Great going throughout!”
We were in the new spa suites and these suites were very well laid out and very clean. There was ample food and quality was decent but it wasn’t the most elaborate buffet. There were few irritants like flies and insects all over food, lizards everywhere, occasional monkeys in eating areas but I guess hard to control all this in jungles. All in all the rangers were very good and we were 100 % satisfied with our first African safari !
“First Safari Experience”
Kapama was our first safari experience and we are glad that we chose Kapama River Lodge. With little knowledge of how private Game Lodges worked, we were continually impressed by the level of detail and scheduling that went into making our experience pleasurable, exciting, and seamless.
Clifton was our ranger and Nevermind was our tracker for all of our game rides. We could have not asked for a better team. With their guidance, we were able to see the “Big Five” even though the Leopard and Lion did their best to hide from us. We participated in four rides (two morning and two evening) and they went out of their way to make our experience special. I highly recommend them.
Pretty in the housekeeping staff and Alfred as part of the waitstaff provided exceptional service.
Finally, Rosemary at reception was extremely helpful with any questions that we had. She was very accommodating and fit in a trip to the Endangered Species Centre and a spa treatment in between game rides.
Food: There is more than enough food throughout the day and the buffett was fantastic. We especially loved afternoon tea before the game ride.
Spa: The Spa staff is exceptional and treatments reasonably priced from our perspective. Do not hesitate to make an appointment.
The experiences and memories from this trip far outweighed the early mornings. In truth, the animals were more active in the morning and I wonder if leaving earlier would not give us more time to see them. If we could, we would stay a few more days. The rides do not get old.
