BALULE NATURE RESERVE TO CAPE TOWN

DAY 4

The sun rises over our final day in Balule and we have one last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far. After breakfast, you are transferred to Hoedspruit's Eastgate Airport for your flight to Cape Town. Upon your arrival in Cape Town you will be collected and transferred to the Hotel and the rest of your day is spent at leisure.

CAPE TOWN AT YOUR OWN LEISURE

DAY 5

Today is spent at your own leisure in Cape Town. There are many things to do in and around the city including boat, cultural, walking and city tours or spend the day lazing at the beach.

CAPE TOWN TO OUDSTHOORN

DAY 6

We depart from Cape Town/Stellenbosch early on Friday morning. We travel to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo, known as the Ostrich Capital of the World, via the scenic and spectacular Route 62, which is South Africa’s longest wine route. We will have a lovely lunch and wine tasting at a local winery, before experiencing the subterranean beauty of the Cango Caves on a guided adventure tour. For dinner, we will have an authentic braai (barbeque).

OUDTSHOORN TO MOSSEL BAY

DAY 7

After breakfast, we head over the Robertson Mountain pass to enter the Garden Route at Mossel Bay. We can spend some time on the spectacular beaches, hike the Cape St. Blaize trail along the cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean, and visit the famous Diaz Museum complex, commemorating the first known European exploration around the tip of Africa. The more adventurous can try a 10,000-foot tandem skydive or sandboarding on the longest dune-ride in South Africa. In the afternoon we will go on a game drive on a private game reserve, hoping to see wildlife such as zebra, lion, antelope, and African buffalo. The evening will be spent in Mossel Bay, with options for several seaside restaurants for dinner. (Dinner on own account)

MOSSEL BAY, TSITSIKAMMA & SEDGEFIELD

DAY 8

Today we continue along the coastline to Tsitsikamma National Park. En route, we will stop at Bloukrans Bridge to view the world’s highest bungee jump bridge (216 meters). There is plenty of time for the adventure seekers among you to test their courage. The afternoon will be spent in Tsitsikamma National Park, with its unique combination of indigenous forest and beautiful Indian Ocean coastline. The park has a wide choice of activities for all, including hiking, crossing a suspension bridge and swimming. Late afternoon you can spend exploring Sedgefield with its spectacular views and beaches. For dinner, we will have a traditional potjie (stew) at a beach bar.

SEDGEFIELD, WILDERNESS & CAPE TOWN

DAY 9

On our final touring day, we will travel to Wilderness National Park, where we will explore the Touw River by canoe. After about 40 minutes, the canoes will be left for a 2km hike along a boardwalk, which will take us to a lovely waterfall and rock pools. After the canoeing, we will drive back to Cape Town, finishing the tour between 17:00 – 19:00.

CAPE TOWN AT LEISURE

DAY 10

Spend today at your own leisure in Cape Town and visit the many sights Cape Town has to offer such as Robben Island, Table Mountain Cableway, a wine farm, seal colony, or a day tour of the Cape Peninsula.

SHARK CAGE DIVING IN GANSBAAI

DAY 11

Early departure from your hotel

An early departure is necessary to be able to spend as much time as possible in the presence of the Great White. Breakfast will be provided on arrival in Gansbaai, so no need to worry about missing your hotel's morning treats. After a full security briefing, you will make your way to the boat waiting to take you out to the world-famous Shark Alley, off the coast of Gansbaai.
(2h 30min)

Shark Alley

Upon anchoring at Shark Alley you will get the chance to observe all of its inhabitants, from its seals and various birdlife, to Southern Right Whales visiting its waters in the season (July to November), and of course the Great White shark. A wetsuit and a diving mask will be provided for you to share the waters with the awesome creations from the safety of a cage which is attached to the boat and floats right next to it. The time you spend into the cage is between 10 and 30 minutes as it depends on the weather and the number of spotted sharks. No diving experience is required.
(3h)

De-brief

Upon completion of your cage dive and arrival back at Gansbaai harbour, you will get the chance to watch the day's actions on DVD while devouring a well-deserved lunch. On request, a certificate will be provided for you to share with your friends and family this incredible day.
(15min)

DEPARTURE DAY
